Using Febmix with CemixFlo

Using Febmix with CemixFlo

When to use it, how much to add, and how to get the best results

If you’re already using CemixFlo to take the hassle out of mixing, adding Febmix to the process is a smart move. Febmix is a plasticiser that improves the workability of mortar and helps you get a smoother, more consistent mix with less effort.

Here’s how to use it properly, when to add it, and how to make the most of CemixFlo at the same time.

What is Febmix?

Febmix is a liquid plasticiser that helps create a more workable mix, especially useful for bricklaying, rendering, and pointing. It reduces the need for extra water and helps avoid cracking or shrinkage in the final set.

It’s one of the most commonly used additives on UK building sites, many builders already use it daily.

How Much Febmix Should You Use?

The general guide is around 250ml of Febmix per 10 litres of water, or 1 part Febmix to 40 parts water. If you’ve been mixing for a while, you’ll likely know by eye how much is enough. But if you’re unsure, we recommend measuring your water and Febmix the first few times to get a feel for it.

When you’re using CemixFlo, you can simply:

Open the CemixFlo valve to let the water flow into the mixer

Add the Febmix during the water flow

Adjust as you go based on your experience and the mix you're after

When to Add Febmix

Always add your Febmix into the water before it hits the mix. That way it blends evenly and does its job properly.

With CemixFlo, you can do this easily pour your Febmix in as the water runs in. Let the flowing water do the mixing for you.

Why Use Febmix with CemixFlo?

Together, Febmix and CemixFlo give you:

Smoother, more workable mixes

Less water waste

No need to lug buckets or pre-mix

Better consistency job after job.
